There is a 5th dimension…beyond that which is known to man…it is a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. It is the middle club between putter and driver, between birdie and bogie, and it lies between the pit of man’s slice and the summit of his well stroked mulligan. This is the dimension of fantasy…a place called Big Walley zone.
As of today my miserable handicap is 19ish. Not that it matters, but it gives some perspective. About 40 years ago I was ready to throw my driver in a fairway pond...my hair started smoking I was so mad, and why?... yea, shanked one. Now my score looked like 110 rather than 109. Big deal.
So I thought ( a rarity) ...why did I spend all that money on clubs, and $20 for the round only to drive myself to the brink of insanity? hmm....good question. At that point, life changed...for the better. If you can relate to this, here are some ways I've learned to enjoy the game.

Golf Trip 10 is in the books
Wow! What a fun week of golf...except possibly playing the Highlands course on a really hot, humid day. On that day the course won and all of us hackers suffered. We endured intermittent drops of rain on a couple of days, but not even enough to put on rain gear, so weather-wise it was also a great success.
The guys from India provided a great departure from the norm, with stories of New Delhi's granduer spoken only as cultural gurus can relate.
This year we stayed at the Sea Breeze hotel...well, except Nori and the New Delhi guys who were already booked elsewhere. The hotel, on Soi 11 was across the street from a sports bar, a great German restaurant, a laundramat and a sleezy massage parlor. What more could you want?
It is possible there'll be a Golf Trip 11....so stay tuned...
